PERHAPS YOU CAN HELP

I am looking for a group/company/individual to sponsor the purchase of copies of my book Bernie and the Captain's Ghost to give to schools for the handicapped and children's homes here in Jamaica. This adventure story is about a group of orphaned handicapped children getting involved in a mystery/adventure which leads to a better life for them. I believe it is empowering for handicapped children since they are rarely the heroes of story books. Here's a comment from a librarian
"This children's story is well-written.The suspense is captivating and the plot realistic. It is a true-to- life mystery that the reader himself is eager to solve. Thank you for this delightful addition to our special collections."

I was just browing through this e-mail that I have been receiving constantly when I came up on this section that deals with this Book, 'Bernie and the Captain's Ghost, written by Hazel Cambell. First, let me Congratulate Ms Cambell for writing this book, I hope to purchse a copy. I wish her every success in the marketing of her book and hope soon she will see sales increase beyond expectation.

The question has been asked, "Why it is so difficult to break into a wider market other than Jamaica...? The answer could lie in the fact that our writing style, the materials we presented, and marketing strategy may be flawed, in that we failed to provide materials that will not only be attractive to Jamaicans only but to other cultures. Therefore, we may have to take a second look at our way of presenting our writings as well as our stories.

I have just published a novel through Xlibris Publishing, 'Titled: "The Story of an Inner City Twelve-Year-Old Girl and Her Family" (Jane and Her Family, sub-title), which can be had online at ww.hermanbook.com
It was published in February, 2010. Anyone interested in finding out more about this novel can contact me at masken4@gmail.com

Let me hope that Ms Cambell will find sponsor for her novel that will help her to do the things that she desires to do for the children named. Just to know that she has put her thoughts in black and white has made her a winner already. Showers of blessings will flow as time rolls on.

Best wishes for your future endeavours,

Herman McKoy

Thanks for your good wishes. Yes, we need to rethink our maketing strategy to reach a wider audience than the limited numbers in the Caribbean. Good luck with your own publication.
